Look Before You Leap - 3 Horrible Mistakes You Can Make When Planning Your Perfect Wedding

General — Posted by susan @ 01:33
wedding dresses Wedding planning is consuming and treacherous. Nobody tells you that as you start off down the road to your wedding (which also happens to be the road to your marriage!). You wind up believing it's all about the party, your spouse is an idiot because (usually) he just doesn't get it, and you'll die if everything isn't perfect. wedding dress Let me tell you right now. Your wedding is not going to be perfect. If you let yourself you're going to have a good time. Often it's the things that go wrong at your wedding along with the way you react to them that will make your wedding memorable!wedding gowns But there are some pitfalls and here are three big ones (AND some suggestions for avoid them!): 1. Don't plan around your values. It's hammered into you that the first thing you do when you decide to marry is grab the wedding magazines. So you do, and you bypass all the practical advice and get lost in the mounds of tulle and chiffon and the trunks of wedding favors and table decorations. At this point, one of the partners often runs for the door and now the other partner is controllingly, yet resentfully, planning the party. Avoid this. No really, avoid this! You want your wedding to look like you.The one reason to grab the magazines or go on line is to figure out where to get your budget estimator. After that, close the magazines, take your partner by the hand, and start to dream about what you would like your marriage to look like. (You might want to go for a walk; you might want to be close to someplace private. This is a wonderful thing!) Once you paint a picture of your marriage, begin to think about how to honor the characteristics and values of that relationship. Let your wedding ceremony, your wedding vows and your reception grow organically from this planning. It sets a great precedent for decision making in your marriage.buy aion kinah 2. Don't plan a wedding that's within your budget. It's easy to become obsessed with finding a way to get every last extra into your wedding without spending another penny. That certainly shows could financial husbandry, but hey! Weddings can actually be comfortable to plan. You can have a wedding without a goody-bag or favors or a $400 garter. No, avoid this. You want a wedding that you can accomplish and still be alive and present on your wedding day. Create a wedding that is wonderful and comfortable and affordable. Be memorable for being the most joyous and relaxed couple at your wedding, not the most harried during your wedding planning. 3. Don't leave room for joy. Oh, so many of us do this. There's no time for joy on the lead up to your wedding. There's only aion gold, planning, planning. You talk about nothing but the wedding. You stop having dates because they're too expensive and you're too tired to plan something fun. Something fun pops up, whether with friends or as a result of looking at things that represent either your marriage or your wedding, and you don't take the time out to enjoy them, because you'll have plenty of time after your wedding to goof off. Avoid this. You want a wedding that reflects how much you like and desire one another. You want people to see how easy you are with one another. Get your priorities straight. Do not assume that one partner who is always a procrastinator is going to suddenly become someone else because he or she is getting married. You're marrying the person of your dreams. Don't take on remodeling your spouse as part of your wedding planning. A) It doesn't work. B) It really irritates everyone. Nothing like showing up at your wedding resentful and angry! Make the choice to plan for your marriage while planning for your wedding!kinah aion You can have fun planning an affordable, interesting wedding. You can slide into the wedding more deeply in love (and okay, maybe more tolerant), prouder and happier than you ever dreamed possible. You can also establish good project management habits for the life ahead. Your wedding may be the first big project you do together, but it won't be the last. Give yourselves every advantage! Plan for a great wedding and a great life! bridal gowns

Poinsettia - the Christmas Eve Flower

As a native of south Florida, I grew up surrounded by poinsettias that GREW IN THE GROUND!! Amazing!!! I never really appreciated that until I moved farther north where poinsettias were bought in pots during the Christmas season and carefully nurtured indoors.eve online isk I have two very distinct memories of poinsettias from my childhood, other than just taking them for granted. While we were living in West Palm Beach, Florida, we had a hedge, separating our house from the one next door, of tall white hibiscus with a thick row of what we called "fireball" poinsettias in front. It was evidently breathtaking. Strangers, probably tourists, would stop in front of the house and question us about the poinsettias. They had never seen anything like it!car dvd players My second memory of poinsettias was helping my mother make fresh-cut poinsettia arrangements for our home, church and friends. She would send me out early in the morning to cut the poinsettias (from the hedge), burn the cut stems with a match to seal them off and stop the flow of the "milk", then submerge them in water for several hours. We had a large wash tub that we would fill with water and then weight the poinsettias down in the water with a brick or rock. The poinsettias supposedly soaked up the water through their leaves which kept them fresh indefinitely.car dvd As an adult, I had the privilege of studying Spanish in a language school in Cuernavaca, Mexico. I learned there that the "poinsettia" was not a "poinsettia" at all but a Nochebuena-or Christmas Eve flower. That name seems so much more appropriate to me since the flower blooms during the Christmas season and after. After inquiring, it seems that the Nochebuena is native to Cuernavaca and was cultivated by the Aztecs. Since the Aztecs preceded the Spanish in Mexico, their name for the flower-cuetlaxochitl-should probably be considered to be its "official" name. But the conquering Spanish immediately renamed everything in Spanish, including the "poinsettia". I must admit that for me, at least, it is much easier to say Nochebuena than Cuetlaxochitl. car dvd player Then, in the 1820's, along came the first United States Ambassador to Mexico-a man by the name of Joel Roberts Poinsett. He was enchanted by the beautiful shrub with large red flowers. He decided to introduce the flower to the United States by bringing cuttings back to his greenhouse in South Carolina. Rather than bringing the Spanish name of Nochebuena back with him, he allowed his "discovery" of the plant to be the basis for William Prescott, a historian and horticulturist, to name the plant Poinsettia in his honor. So, as you and your family enjoy the presence of poinsettias in your Christmas décor, just remember that the plant is actually the Nochebuena-the Christmas Eve flower. Perhaps the Nochebuena will help all of us remember the true focus of Christmas-the birth of the Christ child on Christmas Eve.
